2012 F800GS
I'm refitting my forks after changing the steering head bearings. When I took the off the top of the forks (bottom lip of the cap) was just about level with the top of the yokes. My Haynes manual is for 2006-2010 models but that gives a height of 7.8mm above the top of the yokes. That is roughly where BMW have kindly marked a line on the forks, as it happens.
I don't want to murder the handling so I don't want to fit them 8mm out but I'm quite willing to believe that the last time they were fitted (by a BMW technician) they were put in the wrong height.
Anyone got a 2012 F800GS could have a quick look and see how much above the yokes the forks go on their bike?
Cheers
