I have an odd click coming from the front end when I'm braking. It does it even when I apply light braking but is more pronounced under heavy load. It feels similar to loose head race bearings on a 'normal' bike. I have had a good shake and waggle and apart from the discs moving like they always have, the only play I can detect is the offside fork stancion moving slightly in the slider. So are there bushes inside and do they wear and can they be replaced?

You can look up all parts that are inside the fork (and for the rest of the bike) here:

Something you could check if you have not done already:
Go to
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51556&rnd=07012015
Go to diagram "31_0685 - FORK SLIDER/LOWER FORK BRIDGE"
Check on your bike if the bolts shown as no 13 in the diagram are tightened. Early on there were reports that they could loosen. They did on my bike as well. I tightened them to the correct torque but after some time they were loose again. I then used loctite and tightened them once more, which solved it.

Good luck:beerjug:

I replaced my head bearing while the front subframe was powder coated. It's a sealed double row ball bearing quite chunky. Mine had become stiff in places. But stiff isn't loose and rattling so ball joint is my best guess.

The steering bearing was changed about 10k miles ago. When that was loose it felt different to this. My guess is the RH fork leg guide bushes or your suggestion of the telelever ball joint. Luckily both are covered by my extended warranty. Although not covered by the warranty, Ill get them to change the for seals whilst they are in there.
Jogo, thanks for the link to the Max BMW site. I can see the internals now and see the guide bushes.
