I'll be heading to FW this w/end and was wondering if anyone has some recommendations for nice places to eat.

The Lochy is a favourite nosebag establishment for SS members. See G.C.'s profile singature for details :beerjug:

They often have "Specials" on the menu and one working behind the bar. :D

The Crannog down at the waters edge. Very good sea food.
The Lime Tree is very nice too.
Both a bit dearer - but well worth it.

Gordon's Club sandwich is to die for.:drool

Where are you staying?
What do you like to eat?

I'm voting for GC's Lochy, mostly because it's the only place I've eaten in FW (:blast) but it is tasty pub grub which is good IMHO....:beerjug:

the only other place I've eaten in FW is Burger King, that was good to....:D

If you get really stuck, I can recommend sitting on the roundabout with a good few litres of Strongbow and then shouting at the traffic.

Ahhh....happy days....

You are staying out at Torlundy, so nowhere within walking distance.
No fish, so that kinda rules out The Crannog, they do have a rib eye on their menu but they specialise in fish, I had a nice meal there on Thursday.
The Grog do Tex Mex, as Wessie has said, its popular for their Cask Ales.
The West End hotel at the south side of town gets consistent good reports.
The Ben Nevis Inn at Achintee is well worth a visit, good food, great location, it oozes character. Over the river, the Glen Nevis Restaurant has had some decent reports this year.
I haven’t been in town much this year, well, not for a meal :augie but I’m sure there are plenty reviews in the guest book out at Woodlands and the info above should keep you occupied over the weekend.:thumb2
When do you arrive? I’m about on Friday night but taking most of the weekend off for my daughters 18th birthday celebrations.
Have a great trip.:oonyack

P.S. Thanks for the recommendations gents, Aolf, that poor kid has worked really hard to overcome his disabilities :drool :augie

We're staying here:

We like most grub apart from fish :)

I've stayed here too.

Andrew likes a drink and will probably persuade his American wife, Randi, to drive all of you into town. It was his idea to go to the G&G and of course be bought several beers. We went upstairs for food and Andrew went elsewhere. We got a taxi back to the B&B.

There was a pub in the village but looking at their website it seems that it is shut.

Top B&B. Andrew was very helpful when a mate's battery went bang. He managed to source a new Yuasa battery, from a Honda garden machinery agent, within 24 hours.

While we're on the subject of food, what's Nardini's in Largs like? Are they relatives of yours Italian Trevi?
A few of us are staying there on the way back down the west coast in a few weeks.:)
