Is it going to be constantly fecked?

Every traffic report on the radio seems to start with it, a hours delay today while they knock down toll booths.

The two times I was up that way last year I used it and it was a bawbag then, and still it goes on.

What are they doing? :nenau

Who cares it's in Edinburgh :nenau shitehole anyway:augie

There apeared to be northbound traffic chaos this weekend due to them digging up the verge just north of the bridge - how constructive :blast

Its all propaganda to justify them building a new bridge

Apparently it's because they were making a bus lane. It's now completed (so I'm told). Does that mean that the bridge is now single laned for all vehicles other than buses? Nightmare scenario if it is...

Ma mum told me that she'd heard that they were puting a bus lane on the bridge. :spitfire FFS They've just finished spending millions on "Dualling" the A8000 "to ease conjestion" and now they're gonna turn a dual carriageway (the bridge) into a single track road. Time to write to the government.:mcgun

Anyway, crossed the bridge this mornin, still two lanes, however on the northside they had start to create a new lane (bus lane?) and narrow the to existing lanes. Hopefully the buslane will only start after the bridge. (They cannae be that daft surely)

As for the works being complete, nae way. Its just a big hole in the ground the now. Rumour has it that the works will be carried out every weekend til the end of May.

On a slightly differant tack, have you noticed that since they got rid of the tolls, the bridge has been closed more times than ever before.

Have they ever heard of night shifts??
The bridge is almost as busy on a saturday morning / sunday afternoon as on a weekday thanks to all those Edinburgh types wanting to get out of there (to Fife, who wouldn't?) and all those Fifers wanting to go shopping int he big city!

The first time I used the Bridge I didn't know there was a Toll, I didn't have a penny in cash so I wrote out a cheque for 12.5 pence:o the people in the car behind were well impressed...not.
