A celebration of the Caledonian Canal, should have mentioned this yesterday.
It starts today at Neptune´s Staircase at Banavie, which is just over the road from me and works its way East.
Anyone going through the Great Glen over the next few days should stop and take a peek. :thumb2

Sounds interesting, just a pity it wasn't in a couple of weeks time during the school holidays. :(

Years ago we hired one of Caley Cruisers boats (http://www.caleycruisers.com/) and spent the week going from Inverness down to Banavie and back up. Was a great experience and would love to do it again with Skye.

Somebody that drinks with my Dad (that narrows it down to several dozen people :augie) has just returned from "the holiday of a lifetime" on a boat on the Caledonian Canal. Their boat had TV etc so it must have been one of the top of the range ones that you can hire. I had a look at a website. Quite expensive bit looks like a load of fun.

Edit: The same website as your link

Might have been the MV Lord of The Glens Ronno, thats the really expensive one.
lordoftheglens-ship.jpg
Custom fitted to manage through the locks.
Several £000 for a few days.
Two of the local primary schools attended the Gathering today, but yea, I would have liked to have taken my children there.
Always promised myself that I would take one of the cruises, maybe one day.

That looks the biz. If only, eh? Must be great to have play money for treats like that. Some of the smaller ones look well affordable mind you.

He may not be interested but Madonna might. How old is your twin?

 Well spotted Ronno. Seeing as she's "obtained" a couple already, maybe a matching pair would fit in well :clap

So, how was An Gearasdan ?
Warm today wasnt it.
