It was the way he told 'em.
Met him many years ago about 03:00 (yes AM) in the motorway services. I asked him for his autograph, which he was very happy to give. However he was highly amused by the piece of card I offered him to autograph... It was my Warnford Psychiatric Hospital social club membership card.
And before there are any smart-arse comments it was a Staff Social Club

Sad news indeed. One of my childhood heros from the TV show Tiswas.
Couldn't believe my eyes several years later when I met him in the horse & Groom in Victoria. Said to my then-time gf, 'Blimey - that bloke over there looks like Frank Carson!'. And it was.

I remember Frank Carson from my childhood...and that was before "The Comedians" on ITV!! A funny man who just overwhelmed you with one joke after another. Eventually you relented and just laughed sometimes in spite of yourself! It really WAS the way he told them!
