free 1st service..not any more

picked up bike today from ist service and was told that from next week bmw dealers nationally are charging
95 quid for the ist service so if youve just bought make sure you know
what your going to be charged or book it in early

I *think* the deal is that BMW GB have stopped reimbursing the dealers - it's still the perogative of the dealer / how good a bargain you drive as to wether you pay for it or not.

Took effect from '06. I only paid for oil and filter when I got my 12GS first service last July. As Otto says, it's been left to the dealer decide if they're gonna charge. I'm guessing the majority will charge.

It's still advertised on the website as included in the price, until that changes, complain, and winge like F***K, advertising standards and all that, price as advertised........

Took effect from the 1st of March this year, I picked the bike up 1st of February and labour was free when I had the service carried out.

Local dealer has a notice up saying as from 1st of March labour has to be paid for.
