I have a horse box sitting here.
It's got tie-down points down the sides and centre line inside, and it recently took three bikes all the way around the UK and down to Malaga, as well as then carrying several bikes as and when needed around Morocco, so its got plenty of space.

Being a horse box, its designed for taking two horses, which outweigh a couple of GSs or dirt bikes by a lot, so it tows nicely and is dead stable (ooo did you see what I did there? :D)

The electrics have a fault , but a trailer board slung on the back would deal with that, or its just a matter of running with one brake light and no fogs

Now, the problem is, its on the only parking i have here, and my GS is coming home this week :JB:JB so i need to move it....I could park it on the street but I'd rather it was more secure TBH......so what I'm proposing is a long -term loan to someone here, ideally to someone I know.

Use it, whether for moving bikes or whatever (the tie down loops don't affect the ability to put a hoss in there, and I do have the centre divider wall still) but if/when I need it back for a trip (maybe a couple times a year for that trailer) then I'll need to come and get it back for the month.

It's a good bike transporting solution, so i don't want to get rid of it, but if something changes there we'd have to talk about it (for example, there are horse boxes with Landrover sized wheels that would suit us better)

You break it, you fix it, and I'd need to know that when it was needed, it was still in working order, hence the reason i'd rather it was used/looked after by someone i know :)

Its a standard 50mm ball hitch btw, and it takes up a large car space (i'd prefer it was on hard standing so the wheel bearings etc dont rust up)...there's also no spare wheel but there is a spare tyre off rim inside

My pms are back on now, or post up here :)

Cheers

Bill

cant you just park the gs inside it while it is on the drive it may help keep that nasty salt air and harwich chavs off of it. :D

Yes, but if the said chavs decide to take some bolt croppers to the padlock on the towhitch, they could tow off the GS, the DR and the trailer all in one :blast

It's an option, but I'd want to take the wheels off the horsebox for security, and things start looking double chav then...horseboxes on bricks :D

It looks very much like this:

Mine is white on top and green though, and the window on the front has been boarded over (the glass fairies flew off with the window in Morocco so we just boarded it)

There is a full size ramp in the front and one in the back, so you can ride in one end and out of the other, or laod two bikes in different directions, and there's a 'Jocky door' that 60% of GSers would be able to fit through...it ain't big, but it's adequate to load kit in the front when its full of bikes

The back end , above the ramp, has been boarded with a big flap, so its not ideal for horses with it like that, but it does make it secure for bikes

I'll see if we got any pics of it on the last trip.....

Only image i have below....basically its a sealed and reasonably secure 3 bike trailer....NOT waterproof, but ok
