I have been offered some free Motul 15/50 fully synthetic car oil. Can I use it in my 1150?

Its from my mate who races cars and doesn't know why he has the oil but he's never going to use it so he just wants rid. When I told him how much my Castrol fully synthetic cost from BMW he took pity on me. The Castrol stuff cost nearly £20 per litre. So if this oil is usable I can't afford to turn it down.

He seems to think it will be okay but I thought I would ask on here before I took it off his hands.

Thanks for the reply.

Going back to the Castrol BMW stuff. I notice that I seem to be using quite a bit of oil. Well it always seems to need a top up. There is definately no leaks and temperature is fine. Is my fully synthetic oil just burning off?

IC engines use oil, full stop.
Check level regularly and adjust if required.

Easy or what!

Timpo.

So, how many miles did you do in those 39 minutes?

That was the oil thats already in there. I was referring to the stuff BMW sold me.

I think I have found where it went to. The overflow was leaking a little today. Oil level hasn't gone down from dead centre of the oil sight glass over the last few days so I guess anymore than this on my bike gets blown into the oil overflow box.

Had this with my last purchase (Quad). It can be worrying when you see that oil where it shouldn't be. Anyway keeping an avid eye on it all.
