Got this email yesterday from Ride Magazine if anyone is interested:

Hello

Here at RiDE we've teamed up with Avon to help them develop a new dual-sport tyre suitable for your bike – and we're looking for volunteers to be part of that process.

We're looking for an experienced GS Adventure rider with a 2006-20013 bike, ready to try two sets of tyres on their bike. You'll appear in the magazine and your feedback will help Avon fine-tune their new tyre to suit what you want from your tyres.

The first set to try will be the current tyres – we'd need you to join us at Bruntingthrope Proving Ground in Leicestershire on June 4. You'll get to use the tyres on the test circuit and give us an initial reaction. We'd then ask you to ride off with them and ride on them, as you normally would, for a couple of weeks and give us further feedback.

Then we'll meet back at Bruntingthorpe later in the year when the new tyre is ready. You'll get to test it before anyone else so you can see how much your feedback has shaped it, giving us your reaction to the new tyre.

If you want to take part in this exciting feature, please reply as soon as possible to confirm that you can be available on Wednesday June 4 at Bruntingthorpe. It'll be a 10:30am start, but we'll be finished by early afternoon.

If you could also tell us how long you've had your bike, which year it is, and how long you've been riding, that would be great. If you know what tyres you currently have fitted, that would be interesting too.

Best wishes

Count me in.

I work about 10 minutes from Bruntingthorpe, my 2011 GSA should fit the bill?

Cheers

Simon

I got this email too. I would certainly have been up for this had it not been for the fact that my 2010 GSA will have been exchanged for a new WC one by then.

I had an email back from the guy named in the email address. This offer should have had a Ride email address not his so he has asked that his email address not be used.

I Quote;
"Volunteers were asked to email [email protected]

The selection of riders will have been made by now. Would volunteers from UKGSer have been considered if they had emailed the correct address? Possibly.

However, it must be said that if we'd wanted to recruit volunteers for this feature from a public forum – even one as good as UKGSer – we'd have put it on there. But we didn't. We invited people who'd voted in RiDER Power survey to take part in the magazine, as we feel it's the best way to reward those who participate in the survey. "
