I was under the impression there was a temperature sensor somewhere on the engine, which would monitor the running temperature of the engine, and send this information back to the computer that controls the fuel injection.
For example, when the engine is cold, more fuel is required to make the engine run, so the computer in the fuel injection would allow extra fuel through, to stop the engine running to lean (or not at all).
I also have a modified airbox. The top is removed and i have both unifilters installed. I also have a full remus exhaust system.
Neither probably help this point, as while they allow the engine to breath easier (and it has made a big difference on the top end- mostly due to the remus header).
i think the running conditions of the bike are now so far away from what the fuel injection computer is programmed to allow for, that maybe it is time to get a specialist to look at re-mapping the fuel injection computer?

Considering doing the rad upgrade for my upcoming TAT tour with Skygod, been quoted £422 plus vat and delivery? (£530),from PACE, is this right, ime sure ive seen a price of £350 posted somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!
IIRC the new rad also comes with a special screen to help keep the crud out. The original rad's that Timpo and myself have didn't come with these.
Think this may explain the price hike. I know mine was well over £400 by the time i'd got it delivered, but i don't regret it. It is a well made piece of kit, and i've had no overheating issues since.
It may be worth having a chat with Rossi on here- he's just had a custom rad made, and it came in at much less than the pace item.

Try asking for a price without the guarding.
I have not had any issues with stone damage to the matrix..... touch wood!

I really like drive long trips with my challenge. Only, what I miss on my ex-airhead, is footheaters...

I think that our "team" will skip that, its a bit far away from Hämeenlinna.. but we might keep our own meeting in same spirit
