Front Brake ~ Am I Missing Something ???

Only had the bike a few weeks. Came home from offshore , and went to give it a polish and wipe and discovered this , beneath the left hand caliper bracket.
Its a hole with a nice shiny face , as if something has dropped off ????

Or is it there for a ABS part (mines non ABS) or a Adventure part , which my bike doesnt need ????

starting to get worried now .... bought her second hand with 2000 miles on the clock , shes an April 2010 GS .....
