Front brake light switch

Day of MOT notice front brake light switch doesn't work.

2005 1150 GS Adv ABS has been removed.

Are all the switchs the same?

If it worked previously post ABS removal, try some contact cleaner & exercise the microswitch beneath the lever. Otherwise check the connector (under the right side of the tank IIRC).

Failing that, talk to Steptoe.

Rang Motobins who were scratching their heads not sure which one. Motorworks the same however Motorworks are sending both types one new and one second hand. Which ever one doesn't work can be returned.

When I squeeze the lever it releases the spring switch illuminating the brake light.

Presume it connects under the tank somewhere.

My bike is a 2005 with ABS removed one way or another.

Motorworks sent these two switches.

The one with the white block connector is the correct one.

Activating the front brake releases the spring switch therefore illuminating the rear light. For future reference in case anyone needs to know.
