Ok I'm working on the Storm for the Gambia sorting the brakes (thought they might be important) and the 12mm front master cylinder I have just ain't up to handling the Harrison Billet calliper.

I've spoken with Harrison and they recommend a 13 or 14mm cylinder dependent on how hard I like it (quiet at the back, Cox I heard that! :rob) so has anyone got a 13 or 14mm front cylinder on the shelf? If so can I bother it or them if you have both to try on the bike before sourcing the one I like best?

Now I don't classify this as a want add as its for testing only, once I know what I want I will post an appropriate add over on the wanted section :thumb

Any help available much appreciated I want to get this thing on the road asap!

Doh :blast

I meant borrow not bother in the original post.

Just for reference it's this type of cylinder I'm after, the size is stamped underneath and easy enough to find when off the bike. :thumb

Just an uneducated guess, what size does the mono have as it can have two discs on the front?

I had my mono cylinders upgraded to take twin disks, the standard can't handle them.

The 12mm I currently have came from my mono store cupboard, it works don't get me wrong, just aint right so I'll be after a 13 or 14, just want to see which.

See, it was an uneducated guess :blast

Might it be worth talking with Motorworks etc to see if they know what might be the bike you're looking for for a borrow? Or borrow the "new" 1100's master cylinder?

The bikes pipes have been made to handle that type of cylinder, so the 1100 is a non starter s is the Basic this aint a hash job ya know :augie

Just checking to see if anyone has a spare cylinder on the shelf, dont want anyone pulling their bike apart :D

If Rob`s link doesn`t help, try searching through my old threads about the XTZ750 twin disc front end I fitted to the LegoBike...I altered the master cylinder piston on that for similar reasons.
Fecked if I can remember what size I used now.

Will do :thumb

You heading for Lumb Farm? I owe you a herbal tea bag I'm sure. :D

i have a 12mm currently on my twindisc set up works ok:)

are you sure you dont need a rare 15mm one to try;)

I had an '88 R80RT that had been converted to twin disks.

I found the 12mm standard M/C was too small (I could get the lever to the bar if I tried hard ).

I fitted a 13mm M/C and it was fine after that.

Sorry . but I only have a spare 12mm M/C in the parts tin :nenau

Bob.

Why not bore your 12mm out to 13mm and fit a 13mm piston?

Cause I'm not sure whether I want to fit a 13 or 14mm cylinder yet hence my begging post to see if I can borrow one of each to try. :blast

To be honest I'd rather just source whatever size cylinder I want to use rather than adapt the 12. Do appreciate the thought though, gives me another option. :thumb

You can get 15mm and 16mm bmw master cylinders.

Yes I've used them on some of the bikes already Neil, want to start low and work up to see what suits, it's a bloody big calliper so I'm taking it in stages :D

Quick update, I've got a 13mm sorted to try so just looking for a 14mm (or a 15 if anyone has one to lend? :augie )
