Hello,
Went out for a ride today and I think I've got brake problems—I can hear a 'tick-a-tick-a-tick-a' noise from the brakes when coming to a stop and the bike isn't braking as well as it used to. Time for a strip down and clean!
I've read Mzokk's thread in the FAQ section but I've never done this on a BMW before, and I hoping someone could help with a couple of questions before I phone to Motorworks/Sherlocks and start ordering bits!
Firstly, the catalogues seem to distinguish between 'evo' brakes and non-'evo' brakes. I've got a 2002 1150 GS, picture of brakes below. How do I know which I've got - evo or non-evo?
Secondly, that pin-looking thing between the two sides of the caliper - er, the quite rusty-looking bit
- while I'm sorting the brakes I might as well replace those. What is it called? 'Pad retaining pin'?
Any help appreciated.
Andy
