My rear light is activated with only the slightest front lever touch- and well before any servo or brake activation. Just resting my fingers on the lever activates the light.

How do I adjust the switch- do I wind back the knurled knob next to the lever- or will this lead to ABS failure ;) ?
:D

Try shaving 50mm off the end of your fingers ... that should sort it out...

Can bus ... erm ... smoke and mirrors ... they all do that sir ... I dunno...

My rear switch was doing the same last week....looking at it, we decided the switch itself had moved (probably clouted on a rock or in a river crossing or something) and the spring that touches the microswitch was too close.......

Whatton got down there and with the judicious use of a bit of insulting tape achieved a temporary fix (what, you don't think I was gonna do it do you?? :D) and I've yet to look at it properly, but in your case it might be worth looking closely at the same sort of thing on the front switch?

PS it is worth doing.....the guys riding behind me kept commenting that my brake lights were flashing on all the time on every bump or ripple.....so not only was the servo powering up but the bulb woold blow prematurely and the false signals given to others on the road coould be dangerous

I'm replying to my own question because I MUST be wrong

I have just been to the dealers and am told that on the 1200GS, the servo and the brake light are activated by the same switch and very little adjustment is possible :eek

Fanum- maybe you are correct and maybe the switch has moved
I will look closer
:D
