front brakes gs 1200a

probably teaching ma granny tae sook eggs here, but last winter the front brakes on my gsa 12 partially seized a couple o times in spite of being hosed oot after use and blasted wi brake cleaner.
For this winter i have pulled the pads oot and ground a wee tiny bit off each end and smoothed them oot at the edges
NO seize ups so far

I wouldnae know. My bike hasnae turned a wheel since Edradour

My front brakes were binding badly last winter and I wash the bikie down after every winter outing- making sure the brakes get a good rinse.

The back brake is bad for sticking too.

Doesn't seem to matter that they've just been stripped, cleaned and coppa slipped , they still get sticky if the bike isn't used a lot.

Moral of the story is?........


(It's been feckin freezing here the last week or so so the bike hasn't been out the nice warm garage)

Binding brakes

Hosed the bike down at the week-end and generously applied WD40 to most of the metalwork and wheels - maybe a bit too enthusiatic - certainly stopped brakes binding, but any sort of retardation (except perhaps my own mental capacity) was also out of the question.
Don't I love Winter!
