Just in the process or removing my front cover to re paint, I have almost all the bits off, but not sure about what to do after I have removed the small black box at the bottom of the cover? There is a what looks like a bearing secured with a reverse torx bolt and I can also see a circlip, do I need to remove any of these to get the front cover off?

Also, when I come to put everything back, what is the best way to get the alternator belt back on?

In the garage............waiting? thanks guys :augie

Looking forward

Mate, you may want to consider some protection (oh er missus) once you have sorted it so you aint repainting. I know it looks like I am plugging my own stuff :blagblah:blagblah so I always say buy something like this (not necessarily mine) as it really does protect the front of your bike. There are lots on the market or alternatively use ACF50 which a lot of the lads recommend - I don`t use it myself but I am under no illusions that its brill.

Hope you get it all sorted.

Mine slipped off with out using any pullers, the bearing came off with the cover

Is that your own crud catcher on there? I like the look of Mark's but would prefer something in aluminium similar to the bash plate.

If you were doing it again would you use anything thicker than 2mm?[/QUOTEI
It was the thickest alloy the folder I was using at the time would bend, and to be honest its never been a problem, but 3mm might look better!
