Hi All.
How much am I looking to pay to replace the Front engine cover of my 2007 R1200GS?
Thank you

I asked the same question about 3 months ago and got no reply.
Maybe they were all in the pub. :mmmm

why do you want to replace it ????
is it corrosion ?? if so , try repainting it with wurth paint and acid etch primer . better still , remove it and have it powder coated ...
if it's damaged and needs replaced then disregard this answer :thumb:thumb

Hi and thank you for the reply!!

Yes it's for the corrosion....

As I would not know how to remove it and get it powder coated, how much am I looking at to have that done by someone?

Thank you again

Removal is very easy but by the sounds of it, you will be better off ringing your local dealer and asking what he would charge to replace it:thumb

A fender extender won't stop the cover corroding

Just picked up a 2nd hand cover from Motorworks for £30. Reckon on £25 to blast and powder coat it :nenau and then, say, 1 1/2 hrs labour (that's for numpty me to do it so a garage should be less) :nenau Oh, and a new seal is a tenner.

I'll then blast and powder coat my old one and sell it on. So, nice cheap job, especially if you fit it yourself.

I seem to remember the dealer saying it was about £250 for a new one fitted. If you pay for it, you should get a 2yr warranty on the part. If you use your bike in winter, you should then get another one every year for the next two years. So you'd get three for £250 I think!!
