Hey up, just spent a little time on the bike cleaning etc. I have noticed a groove / mark / damage on the rubber pipe that feeds the front calipers  .
It is not very deep , but deep enough to make me ask the question. what is the bore diameter of the rubber tube.
I am told it has an outer protective layer then an inner tube that conducts the liquid/fluid.
Has anyone ever measured this or have they an old un that they want to cut through to answer the Question

Or

Has anyone got a newish one hanging up in their shed / workshop I can purchase please. Its the one from side of the headstock to the front offside caliper ( with a branch to the L Cal ).

Thankyou if you are answering :thumb2

Time for some braided lines, Mick.

Fair comment lads, but at mo, Pidcocks in Long Eaton were very helpful but cant fit me in till mid June ( When I am on Hol in where ever ) Rainbow in Rotherham are not my favorite cup of tea . I just need a bit of info to aleaviate my concerns on the depth of damage that can be accepted, safely
OR
Someone who can covince me that the bleeding of these brakes is NOTa specialist subject as I get informed ( by the so called specialists )

Any helpful coments would be appreciated :thumb2

Mick,come on mate...you`ve got a damaged brake line.....change it.

Nope..it`s not specialised or super techy to bleed the lines.

That must be the american version. = How to turn a 5 minute job into an event. With all sorts of special homemade tools.

The English version. = Take your tank off. Change the damaged hose. Fill the master cylinder on the handle bars with brake fluid. Find the front brake bleed nipple on the servo unit ( not on the front brake caliper). Fit a piece of tube ( same as you do when bleeding any brakes) onto the bleed nipple. Turn on the ignition, pull the brake lever and fluid will be pumped through the bleed nipple by the electric servo.

On servo braked bikes, DON'T try and bleed in the usual way. i.e. from the front brake caliper while you top up the handle bar reservoir. if you try and doit this way, you'll empty the servo pump.

For non sevo braked bikes ie my 850gs do you just bleed in the usual manor, from the front caliper?

I want to change all my hoses to braided, does anyone have a recommended supplier?

Yes. But if your replacing all the hoses, it's also best to bleed the ABS pump. The pump has two bleed nipples on it, it's easy to work out which is ftont and rear. You bleed them the same as you would a front caliper.
Bleed the ABS unit and then the caliper.

HEL - they're near to you.

Thanks for the easy option Neil ( steptoe ) :thumb
I am/was also going to change the fluids ( all of the brake fluids front and rear )

The Yank way reads as you keep the servo unit topped up whilst you purge the tubes/pipes with the brake lever .
Speaking as a plumber ( shits my business )
I am reading this as - the servo box is actin as a header tank which tops up and replaces fluid as needed, and is on a circuit that will return the air/old fluid back to the resovoire as you bleed it OK ?? Thanks again Neil ( and of course everyone else ) There is certainly a good bunch of lads, and lasses on this forum :thumb !st class
