Whilst cleaning the bike yesterday noticed that the front damper had some bad rub/scoring marks which it would appear has been made by the spring or something else????. The black paint has been rubbed off and its now rubbing through the casing

The bike is only 9 months old and covered 3k miles. I'm going to discuss this 'characteristic' with the dealer but just wanted to know if anyone else has any suggestions or has had the same problem.
