Front suspension conundrum

If you look at the specs for the 1200GS it has a quoted suspension travel of 190mm.
However when I look at my front damper it hits the bump stop after about 60mm of travel.
So whats that all about then?

That'll be wheel travel rather than shock travel. Don't forget about the telelever linkages at the front.
