front tyre

went up to reddith the other satuday to have lights fitted by b.t.b.r great job got back to north kent parked bike away went to get bike out sunday ride noticed cracks on the shouder of the tyre(torance) most of the way round tyre only got about 6k on it frightened the living daylights out of me to think i was doing in excess of the speed limit for most of my journey .
as this happened to any on eles?? if so what was the likey cause.

I had a grey import, which at the time due to lack of funds, despite having cracks in the sidewall much as you describe, I carried on riding it until the MOT was due. Arguably dangerous, but I am still here. On this bike it was probably both age related and down to sun damage.
How old is your tyre? If fairly new I would suggest that you take it back to the tyre supplier.
