I have a bit of front wheel 'bounce' on my new 1250 GS (TE) with cast wheels which has me scratching my head. I have Wunderlich bar risers / backs on there and have rotated the bars down slightly closer to me. Could this have upset the front end handling (i.e. not enough weight on the front end)? I had them on my 2017 GS TE and they were fine. I've tried the ESA on all settings. Makes no difference. Will be having it's first service next week, but wondered if anyone has experienced this? Obviously, tyres etc are all good as it's only done 500 miles. Tyres are the A41s and I'm running the correct 42 / 36 psi (2.9 / 2.5 bar). I also have one of those ram mount bolts in one of the handlebar clamps. Many thanks.

Few members are reporting that the A41,s take a little time to settle in, if I remember what was said, the more miles the better they get.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that. I have had them before on my 2017 and don't recall any 'bounce' (or irregular handling) until they were 2/3 worn out. I'm going to check the bar risers are aligned correctly. All bolts are tight etc.

If risers and everything ok, get the dealer to try the bike, you might simply have a bad front tyre, it does happen often.

Will be interesting. I shall report back the outcomes!

I would guess there will be a fault with the front wheel being not true radially.

I'll try and be serious for the OPs sake - can you describe the 'bounce' and under what circumstances does it happen? I've never experienced anything that I would describe as that.

Have you got slime sealant in the front tyre. I put slime in my front tyre and started to get bounce/oscillation on the front suspension. Took it out and cured it straight away.

No. It's brand new. 500 miles!

Bounce is the only word I can think of. Kind of like an over inflated tyre or damaged wheel. Suspension doesn't feel plush.

Balanced ? Had it on occasions when the balance weight has fell off on the front worth a look at.

So, it turns out there is 'play in the fork bushes'. Bike has done 500 miles so it's all a bit of mystery. Have left the 1250 with the dealer and gone home on a courtesy bike (F850 GS.......surprisingly fun!). Wonder what has caused the play in the fork bushes? I haven't been off road, I haven't done any wheelies and I haven't hit any pot holes. Must be quality control on the bushes??
