All,

The front wheel hub has lost all its paint. I’m considering either repainting or trying to find a replacement wheel ( eBay there are some but they off a 2013 mine is a 2008 ). Any tips thoughts would be most helpful.

Cheers

When mine flaked a few years back I got it repa by the nice people at Alf Hagon’s. Who not only painted the hub but re-laced the wheel with new stainless spokes and put new wheel bearings in as well. All for just on £100. I expect it to have gone up since they did mine but I bet it’s still cheaper than what ever the one on eBay is going for.

Cheers @SuperTed Hagon’s will get a call from me soon

Just as a way of letting others know I spoke to Hagons they don’t do BMW spoked wheels due to their construction. I got a number of a chap in Lincolnshire who can help. Looking at a total cost @ £300 with postage on top. I can pass on the number if you want just PM me.

Bit puzzled as to why Hagon’s said that. Particularly as the F800 wheels are not tubeless. Did you say F800 or just BMW? They probably don’t do the spokes to the outside of the rim, as on the 1150/1200 GS’s, but the standard spoked wheels on the F800 should work fine. They aren’t far from my gaff, I might pop in and ask them.

They kept going on about the spoke nipples on the inside, which I understood that they were maybe that was the problem me not understanding the question. Plus strangely I’ve never had tubes in the wheels.

The current sitrep is me thinking that my wheels are tubeless with spike nipples on the inside of the rim LoL & the reality maybe that the wheels are tubed & spoke nipples on the outside of the rim.
