Ok, swapped keys around the other day after weeks of faffing.

Went to the petrol station and DOH! new key doesn't work of course.

So how do I get the barrel out of the filler lock?

Thanks

L

You can totally remove the whole filler cap assembly by unscrewing all the little Allen Bolts around the filler cap - then the assembly comes out- don't see why this shouldn't work even if the filler cap is still locked ?

All you would then have to do is remove the two hoses, one attached to the "overfill vent", and the other to the "Roll-Over valve" ( and maybe re-install with small jubilee clips).
At least now you can either fill up with enough fuel, and /or take the filler cap assembly to your dealer to get it re-keyed.

Someone on here will no doubt be able to explain how to re-key - personally I have no idea how to do that, so will read with interest !!

Dumb question, but where is your old key now ?

This might help go to "Fuel supply" section.....

Suppose you could always just swap over the filler cap assemblies to suit the keys, if you see what I mean, however, if one bike is in Istanbul, and one in UK that is a bit tricky, but that would solve the problem, kind off !!??

Roger will take you to Bulgaria where his large mate will help you out!.
