Hi all. First post here, so go easy on me.

Got the bike out today (2005 1200GS) ready for a ride in the sunshine and noticed fuel leaking from beneath the left side panel.
Took off panels and fuel pump cover and saw fuel dripping out of the fuel delivery hose where it connects to the metal clip.
Had a wee fiddle, and the delivery hose came out of it's housing, leaving the plastic collar, which the o rings are attached to, inside the fuel pump female connector.
I think it had split and my fiddling broke it completely :(

I removed the tank to get a better look at things but could not remove the full fuel hose and pressure regulator.

Has anyone had similar problems?

I have searched the forums but it appears that this type of problem with the fuel hose/pump has not been talked about.

I am guessing that I may need a whole new fuel pump installed which would be criminal seeing as it is just really the delivery hose that was the initial problem. Does not help that the male coupling with the o rings is now firmly embedded in the female housing (oooer)

Anyway, if anyone has any tips I would really appreciate it.
After this is sorted I will hopefully be able to post more interesting stuff and get involved in the more fun aspects of owning the GS!

All you need is a new male fuel connector.

And use a pick to extract the broken male section in the female half of the connector.

Yes same thing happened to me year or so ago, drove into Bahnstormer who fixed it whilst I waited and charged under £20. Some thing to do with a clip failing, they did not remove the tank.

The same thing didn't happen to you :D His fuel connector is broken, the bike can't be ridden. :D

Thanks Steptoe.

Did try and remove the broken male section but will give it another try. Failing that I will take the tank to the repair shop and get them to do it!

I know how you feel mate. I've been there, done that and bought the feckin T-Shirt. Fragile little sods they are. See HERE. :blast

Have you got AA Homestart? When I broke my connector (don't forget it was late on a Saturday and I was leaving for the Pyrenees the next day) the AA came out and did a temporary fix by adding a length of fuel pipe and clamping both ends. It meant I wouldn't be able to remove the fuel tank till the new connector was fitted, but TBH I had no intention of removing my tank while on holiday anyway. :D
