Morning chaps, Just back from a Scotish jaunt, due to work on the house the bike has been stood for 4 months without moving, a quick check over and it fired up and away I went. The problem is when I fuel up it leaks out of one of the breather/ water drain pipes for a minuite or so. I had sprayed wd40 down the water drain as part of the check (I do it usually once a month). It's a 2000 1150 and in the 9 years I ve had the bike it's never done that before. I always fuel up on the centre stand and right to the brim, very slow for the last few pence worth. Any ideas before I pull off the filler neck to have a look. I was going to give it a wash but I don't want to find its a pipe off under the filler neck or a hose perished and end up with water in the tank through the water drain hole.
Thanks in advance, Dave.

Mine does that if I brim fill it, close the cap & let it stand. I've always assumed its the fuel expanding from the heat off the engine :nenau. If I ride off straight away its fine. I have done the 'drilled filler neck mod' though, which I believe doesn't help in this respect. Strange yours hasn't done it before though - you may be on to something with the perished hose theory? Or even the seal on the filler cap?
