Hello again,

There are some bubbles coming up through the silver paint on the filler cap. If I unscrew the torx bolts to sand and re-paint the rim, will anything drop into the tank?

No, just undo the bolts and unlock the cap and it will lift out.

Make sure the drain holes are clear before you re-assemble it.

The O ring will expand and be impossible to refit until it's been dried out - best buy one from Motorworks or somewhere and put the other one aside as a spare if you want to have uninterrupted use of the bike...
