When i had an '06 1200GS there was a fuel filler mod that i did. Now i ihave an 09 one they have changed the filler neck, and it is a real pain to fill without chucking fuel everywhere.Anyone made any mods to theirs or know of a way of filling without spillage.

Cheers

Richie

Been looking at the same thing on my 09, my the looks of it you can do the same thing to the 09 it's just plastic not metal.

But saying that I have not done it to mine so don't know for sure.

Not checked an '09 but the '08 has the plastic filler neck and it does not have the collar at the base that most riders pull out of the metal one. It also already has a breather hole near the top so no need to drill one - as such not sure what mod you are talking about - unless the '09 is not like the '08 anyway.

I had an 06 and modded the filler neck-it helped a lot,I've not had any issues with the 09, as has been said it is already vented,I have no problems brimming the tank so I'm leaving well alone.

The late 08s/09s GS are 'pre-modded' - I dunno about chucking fuel everywhere, the odd dribble here and there but nothing to cause any stress; having brimmed the GS for around 110 fill ups so far.

YMMV.
