Had the bike layed up from the beginning of December till the end of January, went to start her after putting the battery back on and on turning the ignition switch there was this high pitch whining sound, now normally I would associate this with the wife but this time it was coming from the petrol tank! All went quite so I pressed the button and bike fired up no problem however that high pitched whine came back so after a look over me shoulder to make sure it wasn't the light of my life I took the bike for a spin an she ran fine, crossed me mind the fuel pump could be on its way out lets start with the easy stuff I changed the fuel filter which i've always done at the proper time and low and behold normal service has now resumed, no more high pitch whines, well not from the bike anyway
