Hi all

How accurate/reliable is the fuel gauge? Manual states 2 bars 4L left and the warning light should be lit. Now, I've ridden 196 miles since my 1st fill-up, there's 1 bar showing most of the time, occasionally no bars (been like this for ~25miles). The fuel light hasn't come on once on the ride to work, but switching the motor off and then switching just ignition on the fuel lamp remains lit.
Grateful for any comments.

BTW I'm trying to detremine full tank fuel range.

And, how long till I start pushing!!!!

Regards

Tim

Sounds right

I have got up to 232 out of a tank recently when I knew there where plenty of stations around.

196 with 1 / flucuating light is how I get it. When on the m-way I find that the light comes on but then will go out when leaving the m-way on the slip road. (Basically when the left hand side of the bike tank is released into the right side.

Recently on my 232 miles I found that when I filled the tank it registered 22.5 litres of fuel on fill up. So could of done a little more.
This is all on a standard tankm not ADV

My yellow light doesn't come on till there is 0 bars then I can get 20 ltrs in to the neck, I have a siphon sucker fitted and have ridden 30 miles from the yeller light then got 22.7 ltrs in.

220 miles is as far as iv'e gone on a tank, iv'e since drilled a hole in the neck so I can fill above the neck limit then I can get another ltr or so in but don't fill it this high if you intend to put it on the side stand as the extra fuel will run out the overflow as it expands, but its fine if you intend to ride for 20 miles as the fuel will then be used before its put on the sidestand.

Thanks

Thanks for replies boys.
Riding home with no bars showing, warning lamp on and 198 miles up. Managed to squeeze 18.8L of Tesco's best in.
Whats that,~48mpg. Me mother (75yrs) would probably ride quicker!!!!!
