Fuel gauge query

The gauge reads about 3/4 full all the time. Will it just be the arm thingy with the float stuck?
Any tricks to free it without having to `go in`

Do you reckon the yellow fuel warning light should still work? I believe they are separate entities inside the tank. Guess I will run it down with a can of fuel in the top box just in case!

Probably stuck but if you take it out carefully clean the residue off the contacts with some brake cleaner.
