fuel gauge woes gs1200gsa

As a mechanical moron with a large hammer, I have to say that doing the valve clearances is made much easier after watching a couple of video's. I would recommend changing both final drive and gearbox oils, doesn't take that long; remove rear caliper and check the rear pads, they eat them quicker than the front ones !

One litre of gear oil with do the FD and the gearbox. I use the Millers fully synth 75-140. No change in miles per gallon and has to be better for the gears.

i have done the oil in final drive a couple of months ago, quite easy job,
but i have not checked the drive shaft splines or uj,s would think that a little grease
would be required.will be checking a few videos out later,
