Fuel Guage sender

I know this has been discussed before but after getting my bike back from a 35k service I noticed that the fuel guage now only reads up to a half tank even if you fill it right up, the other thing is that I came home last night on reserve showing 38 miles to go before empty, this morning it showed 0 miles to go, I had no choice at 0430 but to ride it, I travelled 18 miles, nervously to the fuel station and filled up, only 15 litres

1/ would the dealer have disturbed the fuel sender
2/ where is it
3/is it likely to be software or hardware
4/I contacted BMW witgh my chassis number and they said that no software updates were reqired for th ebike.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated

What year is the bike ?

My Bike gauge is so vaiable I no longer bother to use it - I just set the trip meter and fill up after 150 - 180m miles.

The gauge reads from 190 - to 250 on fill up and after 50 miles drops to any thing from 180 - 80 miles left. The fuel economy remains fairly static at around 45 - 50 per gallon.

Having said that - I mentioned it to my (new) dealer yesterday and they said they might be able to re-calibrate it.

Can only suggest that you go back and get them to check the calibration.
