Fuel hose connector - O-ring size/part no?

Roynie and I had the fuel tank off this morning to change the knackered battery on my 02 1150GS and inspect the condition of the wiring loom, etc. Connected everything up again and the bike starts fine but, alas, one of the hose connectors was leaking.

We had a good look at the connector, and there appears to be a small nick in one of the O-rings, which could explain the leak. Do these need to come from BMW and, if so, does anyone have a part number for them? Or are they standard, in which case, what size am I after?

Any other common causes of fuel leakage that I should check?

You'll probably find that your local pound shop has a tub of 'o' rings of assorted sizes

No idea what size they actually are, but you'll probably pay £5 for a BMW one or 10p each from any tool place, motorfactors , hydraulics place or similar.

Ta for that. Hopefully a new O-ring is all that's needed.

There are two different sizes. The ADV crossover pipe uses a smaller "O" ring.

If you get one from a motorfactors or tool shop make sure it's not the type of rubber that melts on contact with petrol.

Nitrile, Fluorosilicon, Neoprene rubbers ,urethanes and polysulfides, all good......You'd be hard pushed to find an o ring made of a non-fuel safe rubber.

I think about the only 'rubber' that isn't petrol safe is the proper natural rubber, but Im not certain.
