Cant believe my own stupidity , but i recently replaced the two fuel hoses that connect to my fuel pump on the underside of the tank.
I forgot to mark them and now don't know which way they go back.
They connect at the bottom to two brass plastic covered tubes that come out from behind the engine.
These tubes are on top of one another but i don't know which pipes from the tank connect to which tube.
There are two brass hose mounts on the tank to connect the hoses too, one near the center and one nearer to the edge.
If this makes sense to anyone i will appreciate the help.

THANKS JOHN

I've been just as dim in the past.Way round it is to connect the pipes one way round and see if it works. If it does, all OK.If it doesn't,swap them over and try again.Beware of fuel at 40psi though. When they are round the wrong way you are trying to pump fuel back through the relief valve in the distributor.

HOW LONG FOR

Hi COLBAN

Have you any idea how long i can try starting he up before any damage is done ?.

cheers john

ANYONE WITH THE TANK OFF

Anyone with there tank off at present , you can tell me which way these fuel pipes go, there must be someone ?

Is this of any use to you?

if its the 2 hoses shown in the diagram that need to be clamped they go to the throttle bodies on either side of the engine, not 100% but I would nt think it will make that much of a difference which way round they go

You shouldn't do any damage at all as all that is happening is that you are trying to pump fuel back through a relief valve that opens from the other direction.Like canal lock gates as it were.
However,i have in my hand a complete pump/filter plate assy.:bounce1
The fuel comes out of the tank at the 8mm pipe connector at the outer part of the plate;the nearest to the flat section on the circumference.
Looking at the way the pipes are set as they come from the plate connectors, this 8mm feed pipe from the pump should go to the lower tube of the fuel distributor.
