Had a strange one on the bike last Tuesday, went to work (less than an mile - i usually cycle) and by the time i got there there was a lot of petrol leaking from what looked like the somewhere under the petrol tank down all over the engine casings and onto the catalytic converter. it was smoking and i would say fire was not too far away. I parked up but did not have time to check the fuel lines etc until lunchtime. Checked them with the fuel tank lifted and bike running but could find no leak. have ran the bike all week ( one good long hard blast as well) but have had no re-occurance. however i am nervous that it could happen again.
the tank was over 3/4 full and the bike had not been used in 3 days.
anyone with advice or experience of something similar would be appriciated.
