Fuel p*ssing out of lh carb

Started up my GS (full story here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/277304-Accidental-100GS-rebuild) today with a view to selling it as it's been gathering dust for some time...

Stuck in battery that's been on trickle charge for 3 years (!) and a gallon of fresh fuel - it started on about third or fourth crank

But there's fuel pissing out of the left carb - can't really see where from on a preliminary squint without my reading glasses.

What's that most likely to be a sign of? Perished float bowl seal from sitting dry too long?

If after assaulting the carb...if it carries on a leaking a few more times....the tip of the float needle has hardened and need's to be replaced

When you replace it, check float height....
