Total, entered into a dispute with the French government over something or other. It might still be going on.

Several years ago the higher and lower grades of petrol nearly aleays sold at the same price in France.

It was a bold move to keep petrol under 2 euro. Diesel at Total has exceeded that now.
Speaking to locals in Quillan, they are maintaining the price "whilst stocks last." 95 seems to have been used up and they are selling the last of the 98 before going to market price. Doubt it will be long
