I hope my fellow GSers will come to my aid........Heres the story.....
About a week ago i was riding my 1100GS to work (long way 'round) when my fuel light came on. I stopped at the first petrol station and when i opened the fuel cap a good glug of water went straight in the tank. This happens quite alot on my Triumph because the drain gets blocked, so i made a mental note to check the drain, filled up an off I went. About 5 miles down the rode I noticed a high pitched noise coming from the fuel pump and the bike started to misfire on part-throttle and had developed an intermittent flat-spot on acceleration. Looking on the forum, this all pointed to the filter, so I replaced the filter (put it outside the tank) replaced the strainer and all the pipes and clips in the tank. The fuel pump is now quiet, but I am still lurching down the street, misfiring and hesitating. Coincidently, the bike seems OK for the first couple of miles........I was thinking there may be some water still in the tank? Any opinions would be gratefully received
Kind Regards and a Merry Christmas to you all
