R1150RS fuel problem.

If jumping the contacts across the fuel pump relay, does not get the fuel pump to run, then most likely the Green/White wire, which you can follow from the Haynes manual ( fuel pump relay to fuel pump and injectors) has been cut somewhere to enable the immobiliser circuit relay to prevent the bike from running.

If so then you will need to trace the wiring from the box to where it connects into the bikes wiring loom. Find the two ends of the Green/White wire and remove them from the immobiliser and reconnect them together.

Thanks Ian, jumping the contacts didn’t work, I will try and trace the green/white tomorrow, their is a lot of wire coming off this alien unit, will try tomorrow as today feels more scraping the beast.
Thanks again

if you had set fire to it in the beginning...... it would be out by now ! :ROFLMAO:

IF it has an immobiliser on it , all the wires should be black .
be very careful and methodical ,with labelling and removing .

Hi Ian, some progress today, decided to remove the alien box, found a slight bulge on the wiring to the pump block connecter, stripping back the insulation on the green/white wire it had been cut and connected to one of the wires from the alien unit this I removed and reinstated the green/ white wire and the fuel pump primed with no problem, bike still won’t start but I’m working through the rest of connections and hopefully I can successfully remove them all. I’ll keep you posted.

Great news!

You now have fuel

You’ll likely find another pair of wires cut somewhere in the loom which is also preventing the bike from running. It might be a plain green wire which would stop the ignition coil from working.

First and foremost I must extend my gratitude for all the assistance I have received from all members of this forum especially Ian who’s knowledge and expertise have allowed me to finally have my bike running again, having had the bike for 5 years I was completely unaware that it had an immobiliser fitted until now and removing 28 connections and yards of wiring with a few guesses along the way the beast is now ready to go again, Thanks to all.
