'99 1150 on 160,000 miles; Today it was hard to start (never been a problem before) and it also cut out intermittently so a long ride home on the back of a recovery truck. Can't hear the pump prime when it cuts out, and the plug under the tank is clean so I dont think its that. Is the pump fecked do you think?

Can a failed hall sensor produce these symptoms?
Is the rev counter playing silly buggers?

Welchman - can you let me have a PM or Email address please matey... would like to ask you details on an old post you made?

Could be the short wiring loom from the ignition, it goes under the front of the tank.

Makes it cut out and everything else you have described.

Put it on center stand with the ignition on and move bars slowly from side to side, the ignition will cut out at certain points, if it is that.

Might be worth trying a new fuel filter if you are not sure when it was last changed.
