I have a 2009 GSA and the fuel range gauge has started to be very slow to reset after a fill up, has anyone else had this if so is it the start of a problem or nothing to worry about?

Mine's a 2008 and it started giving daft readings at about 12 months - showed empty when full or full when empty and suddenly the 'range' reading started dropping like a stone. If this happens its fecked. Replaced under warranty in 2009 and been fine for the 50k miles since.
Mine has always been slow when filling up and takes around 30 seconds to reset to the new level. Not a problem though.
Depends on your definition of slow. My 2011 RT could take well over an hour to register to full once I'd put fuel in. Asked the dealer to look at twice & was twice met with a

Cheers for that, as said I know theres fuel init so ill just carry on.
Mine takes about 30 seconds once the engine's been restarted - just make sure you always reset the trip and use that for your mileage.
Mine used to count upwards from time to time, the mileage to empty increasing as I rode for several miles down the road.
To alleviate boredom, I used to guess at what mileage it would finish its silent counting.

I ave had at least three new fuel strips so always set the trip to zero. Have changed bikes and now have a 2011tc with very low mileage. On Friday I was riding into town when I notice d the trip meter was over 800 miles. Checked the second one and it was in the 900s. I kept watching and noticed that the meter was tripping a mile about every 1 - 200 meters!! I checked the mileometer and that seemed to be correct. I pulled over, switched off and back on then re-set the trips and all was well thereafter. Never had anything like this before but it has made me wary.

That's quite normal for any vehicle equipped with a "fuel range" computer. If you give it some beans for 10 miles or so, the computer will work out an estimated range assuming you continue to ride in the same manner. But if you then switch to bimble mode for a while, the computer will recalculate accordingly.

Not wishing to give granny egg-sucking lessons, but you do know that the trip counter displays tenths of a mile while the main odometer displays whole miles only?
Thanks and yes I am aware having ridden these bikes for about 5 years. It was counting up in miles -hence showing some 800 miles after resetting to zero about 20 miles beforehand. Switching off and back on seemed to re-set the electrickery.

Put fuel in my new GSA today for the 1st time. Took about half an hour for the miles to empty malarkey to finally concede I'd topped her up.

Mine takes a while to get the message when its been refilled, but only a few minutes. It takes longer when the tank had been really low than when it was just topped up a bit.
One annoyance is that we cant set it ti show an instant(ish) mpg figure. I dont really care about the long term average mpg because I check that when I fill. But sometimes I need to ride very economically (like when I forgot to fill up last night). Continually resetting the trip to get a (reasonably) accurate current reading is a pain in the bum.
Another is how it defaults to overall odometer rather than the trip. Forget to reset it before pulling away and you can get caught without enough fuel.
Being able to reset these from a GS-911 would be a VERY handy feature.
All this does make an add-on fuel tank farkle look sensible. Though 1 litre in the carbon filter space might not be enough.
