Not wishing to hjack 47steve's post about the darn things, and to save me trawling thru other numerous posts about them, did I read something recently on here about guys buying and fitting the strips themselves ??
Has anyone got a link at all please ???
(Ive just had my fifth one fitted on my 58 plate 1200 at the local dealer. BMW wouldnt pay for this one as theres no "warranty on a warranty" and the bike is "old". I did argue the fact that the bike may be "old" but the new part fitted isnt !!!. One of the strips "went" when I opened the filler cap to pour petrol in from a fuel can. I guess weve all got similar stories)
If the new strip gives up, I may look to a diy job as it seems the part is available to purchase these days. ???!!!!
