Fuel Strip Calibration on GS911

I'm probably one of many owners who has suffered fuel strip failure over the years (I run a 2009 RT1200RT which I bought new).
I had two replaced under warranty and the last of those lasted three years before failing.
I resigned myself to revert to time honoured method of resetting trip as a fuel use guage as I felt incensed at the need to go to a BMW dealer and pay for a calibration of a new strip.
I notice on download of the latest GS911 software there is a new function to calibrate a fuelstrip. I wondered if anyone has tried this and has any feedback?

Just replaced my fuel strip today, the GS-911 calibrated it fine, when I plugged it in outside of the tank.

Yep, I've done it with two new fuel strips now.

Procedure works fine, but remember. If you pay the dealer you have 2 years warranty.....maybe warranty for life

I replaced the strip myself a few weeks ago, calibrated it easily with the GS 911.
My bike is now 7 years old, had 2 strips under warranty the last one 4 years ago.
Don't think I'm bothered about the goodwill of BMW as I do all my own servicing and always have. Their goodwill will only extend as far as the bottom line of your invoice....which in my case in not very far!

The ability to do the fuelstrip calibration yourself with the GS911 is an excellent feature.

I can't disagree with that. Having fitted two myself for the same price as one from a dealer I'm on a par but the new one has to last now. I just like doing things myself and independent from a dealer as thats half the fun of bike ownership for me. Sometimes cost gets sacrificed.
