Has anyone done the DIY fix using a igniter on there fuel strip ? i have a 1200 gsa 09 with fuel light flashing. I have done some reading up on this but i would like any pictures before i started it. The fuel strip was replaced as a good will gesture in july this year and its feked already and BMW dont give a g/tee with good will work so im no happy about paying for a new one. Any help would be appreciated cheers.

I believe BMW have issued a 10 year warranty on this part now, speak to the dealer again

It wasn't long ago I spoke to them I even phoned customer service but still no g/tee :-(

BMW told me my new strip came with a 2yr guarantee. but I assume that means the replacement strip will be free, but I shall have to pay them labour for fitting it?

Yes but they only fitted it as a good will gesture I didn't pay for it and they don't give g/tee on good will :-(

But the same dealer who fecked the last fuel strip is going to do a perfect job with another one.

My original lasted 50K and 6 years. The OP had one fitted by a dealer and it's dead in 6 months. Getting the same lot to fit a replacement would not be top of my list.

What happens when a fuel strip is fitted WITHOUT Calibration? Is it just inaccurate or does the Canbus throw a paddy?
