Fuel tank vent pipes

Removed old filter yesterday and replaced with new today. The marker I had put on one of the internal vent pipes had fallen off. I took a chance and guessed which was which and the bike starts and idles fine so I suspect I have been lucky. What would happen if they were mixed up?
Is there a schematic anywhere showing the correct routing for future reference?

I'd imagine REAL OEM would have a decent schematic

If they were mixed up it wouldn't run. I... er... a friend did it once.

Don't think it makes any difference as one is an over flow and the other a drain from the under the fuel cap.
They both pass through the tank and out through the pump plate.
