FUEL TANKS

Yes, perfectly.

Except the on very early 1100 plastic tank models which leave a gap around the rubber beak buffers.

The rubbers for the different tank were about £15 quid I think, I replaced an 1100 plastic tank with a metal 1150GSA one.

PLASTIC TANK

Thanks. i have fitted the plastic one and had to cut the rubbers to fit ,i've only just learned that the plastic tank was fitted to the early GS (I thought it was an after market pattern part.) so i assume it originally came with the rubber trim to fit properly.
So is the 1150 tank identicle with all the fuel pump components and filler cap interchangeable also badges in the right places to that of the 1100 ?

The tank internals are identical and a straight swap but the fuel pump plate is fastened with screws on the plastic tank rather then the studs and nuts on the metal tank. Filler cap is a straight swap. Not sure about badges. You can buy the correct tank rubbers from Motorworks.

I'm doing this the other way round - replacing my existing plastic tank with a new metal one I bought (when I get round to it  )

On a connected subject,
I'm replacing the fuel pump and level sensor unit on my 99T 1150 GS.
I forgot to note the orientation of the module in the tank when I took the old one out.
It looks as though the fuel pump cannot lie vertically but can anyone confirm the orientation before I seal it up?

There's a "flat" on the pump housing that lines up with a "flat" on the tank.

Have a look, it's pretty obvious.

This any help? (my 1100 plastic tank but I'd imagine the same for all 11xx models)
