Fuel / temp gauge issues

its pretty straightforward, the unit comes complete and is sized for either the standard tank or the adv tank (two different part numbers) I took the opportunity to change my gauze fuel filter and the main in line filter at the same time and replaced all the clips with OE Stainless and two small jubilee clips for the filter housing. A new O ring for the plate is required and torque up the bolts in accordance with the instructions in the manual (don't over do it other wise you will distort the O ring or strip a thread. I changed some fuel hose as well at the same time just so I know I did not have to do the job again.

The oil temp sender was an easy straight swap. I had in the past thought as the fuel gauge and the oil temp was faulty it might have been the RID so I bought one from EBay - fitted it but the readings were the same so I have it for a spare now.

Main parts are;

AAA00073683 Petrol Gauge 30L @ £180
TAA41008 O Ring @ 2:40
AAA00073684 Clamps @ 4:70
SIA Fuel Filter @ 10:00
ELA41602 Oil Temperature Sensor @ £50

I got mine from Motorworks - all in for the repair to the tank and the oil temp sender £295.38, all BMW Parts, clips and ancillaries etc. etc

That's the other thing I wanted to ask. Did the replacement attached to the tank panel with all the electrics for the gauge and the pump or did you have to use the old plate and reseal the electrics?

Sorry just picked this up - no the new unit is complete; all you need to remember is the clips and O ring seal.

Not managed to get out on it since repairing and other bits being done so first stop will be garage for fuel then going from there
